DeviantFur is looking for new and active moderators! We are having a lot of issues with being able to keep the group alive (again). I might need to temporary close down the submissions if we don't find new people, to avoid stressing out the last of us. There's two types of moderator roles we are looking for:

Submission moderators:
Quite self-explainery, moderators to view the massive amounts of submissions we get daily. People who are good at recalling our rules, polite and good at english when it comes to explaining the rules to our members when they inquire about them. We do also require understanding of quality control from submission moderators.

Global moderators:
This task is a bit more challenging and requires creative minds! These are people who seek to improve the group, fix issues, host events, keep submission moderators informed of changes. Global moderators have the same power as the founder, except that the founder can remove them if they abuse their powers.

interested?
Go fill out this little form and I'll see if you're capable of the task <3

But, keep in mind the current glitch with group, it's not yet fixed:

Hello! I just want to inform the members and admins here that there seems to be a rather severe bug plaguing our group messages right now. If you've had your work declined today for seemingly wrong reasons, this is very likely why.

We've had pending submissions wrongly appear to be submitted to the wrong folder, and they're getting declined for that reason, only for us to have the message refreshed when we vote to show the folder it was actually being submitted to. It seems to be a visual problem where the system is telling us things are being sent to the wrong folder, but without viewing each pending artwork's correspondence message directly (by going to the Comments link beneath the voting buttons for each) we can't tell what is right or wrong. When the messages are viewed directly, their correct folder destination is displayed as opposed to the visual bug on the collective group inbox.

For example, we've had all our submissions appear as if they're being posted to our Comics and Literature folder until we vote on them, whereupon suddenly they're corrected when the message refreshes after we click our vote. Similarly I revisited our group inbox a few minutes later to see if the problem persisted, and it happened again, only with everything now appearing as if it was being submitted to the Felines folder.

So if you've had your art declined today, this is a very likely reason for it, since we're being led astray by what seems to be a bug on dA's end. (Personally I've had the site fail to load and generally be broken for the last day or so, so maybe this is connected to that general breakage, but I'm not sure.)

I've warned the moderators about this and will be very careful and be sure to view every pending submission individually to get the facts straight with each artwork being submitted, but already some have fallen through the cracks and gotten wrongly declined because we were fooled by the folder name showing up wrong.

As always, be sure to inquire if you feel you've been declined wrongly, but especially so in light of this issue. I also encourage any of our members who are also administrators of other groups to be aware of this issue in case it is affecting your own group correspondence messages. Whether it might be localised to certain ones or not, I don't know, be sure to be careful nonetheless.
It's been a year since we had an art feature last time, I'm sorry that this happend! But, I've been storing the gems posted into our group right in my inbox, all this year! And it's time to look back at all the awesome things people has posted into DeviantFur!

A big big thanks for Aederith for rewriting the rules to be more easy to understand, going through the folders and renaming confusing ones, splitting up some folders for better organization and adding descriptions to each of them! So please take a minute to read up the new rules! While they do not have much changes, it's always good to remind yourself a bit about what out group is aimed for:

» Link to the rules «

Changes:
:bulletgreen: New folder: "Hybrid and Mixed Species"
:bulletblue:"Reptiles, Amphibians and Insects" folder are now separate. Insects now go to misc. while "Reptiles" (including dragons) and "Marine and Amphibian" are now their own folders!
:bulletblue:"Tutorials and Reference Sheets" folder is now split into "Reference Sheets" and "Resources"
:bulletblue: Renaming of some folders have been made, so that the intended contents is easier to understand! :3
:bulletred:Animal eared & tailed humans, aka. kemonomimi no longer allowed! We have decided that while some of the works may still represent some anthromophism, most of the drawings in this category are just humans that have ears and tails for no actual connection to anthromorphic animals.

Next up I'll give some attention to the artists who have been submitting their works to the group instead. Stay tuned for a massive feature journal for artworks of the previous year. I've been storing these in my inbox for all this time, it's time to bring them out!

The Naturama Project 2014 - draw art for nature!

Do you like drawing or creating art?
Do you offer commissions or want to start with it?
Do you love our beautiful nature or have a favourite animal?

So please use your skills and join the Naturama Project 2014!
(Here our website of the last year, we will update it these days for the new year:
naturama-projekt.org/en/natura… )

The Naturama project is a project, that collects artists from all nations to draw together commissions for our environment and the animals, we love.

At the end of the project, we donate ALL money (each cent!) to environmental organisations to help saving:
* the last tigers
* wild wolves
* amazing birds of prey
* sweet and helpless pets
* otters and rare snow leopards
* the marine diversity
* the little but often forgotten wild bees
* the bats
* and this year as special animal the dangerours sharks!

2011 we started the Naturama Project and about 40 artists collected 1.800 Euro!

2012 we were about 87 artists and donated more than 3.000 Euro!

Last year 105 artists draw and create art, so we reached the goal to collect more than 4.000 Euro for our nature!

And this year...?

Become an active part in naturama and send a mail at: info@naturama-projekt.org !

The project starts offically at 1st march 2014! Join us now!"
