» Rules «
These are our submission guidelines for the group. They're not too complicated, but be sure to read these and thoroughly understand them before submitting your work into our gallery. Submissions are limited to 3 times per week
, so if you get declined you'll have to wait before submitting again! You may submit any artwork related to animals and/or anthropormorphic subject matter.
You must be able to tell the connection to these subjects from looking at the artwork itself without it being separately explained. Characters who look mostly human with animal attachments like ears and tails, e.g. kemonomimi, are not accepted in the group. We encourage you to submit artwork that shows the best of your skills.
This means nothing you actively berate in the artist's comments and are just submitting for quick feedback. Show us your best work and what you are most proud of! This means you must only submit work which you created yourself. This means no uploading work which you commissioned from someone else. We do not accept 18+ mature content.
This means work with any display of genitalia will be declined, as well as anything blatantly fetishistic. Excessive blood and gore is also not allowed. Please keep things clean; we have younger members in this group as well. We prohibit submitting of any hateful artwork that condemns certain races, religions, ideologies, etc.
This includes any words in the artist's comments, not just the artwork itself. Please be polite and courteous to your fellow members. We uphold a certain level of quality control in this group.
We want to keep our gallery at a level of intermediate/medium skill and higher, so the following is a list of what we do not accept:
- Rough sketches and scraps
- Sloppy/unfinished looking colouring
- Artwork with no shading, unless it is stylistically intended
- Artwork which has no background and is left as blank (except for transparency)
- Poorly scanned or photographed work
- Artwork drawn on lined or graph paper
- Images with watermarks which are obstructive and detract from the piece
- Anything created using uncredited stock and resources (photography, textures, etc.)
- Drawings created using bases or anything which is obviously traced
- Advertisements of any kind, including commission sheets and adoptable listings.
- Literature submissions must be clear and legible without noticeable grammatical or spelling errors which hinder the quality of the writing as a whole.
If any submission of yours is declined, you will most often be left a message on your art's correspondence to let you know why. If not, feel free to ask on the correspondence page itself - not the group's profile, because otherwise we can't find which drawing you're talking about amongst the hundreds we have to sift through each week.» Becoming a Contributor « What is a contributor? How do I become one?
A contributor is a trusted member who regularly contributes artwork to the group. Submissions by contributors are automatically accepted, and they may also submit artwork once per day as opposed to three times per week.
To become a contributor, you must be a member of deviantFUR
for at least two months while being active by posting artwork to our gallery without breaking the rules. Once you feel you have satisfied these requirements, you may send the group a note with your request to join the contributors tier. The moderators will then give you and your work a quick look-over before making their decision based on whether you fulfilled the prerequisites. If I stop contributing art, will I be removed from the group?
No, although if you are a contributor you may be demoted back to a regular member if you do not contribute for a couple of months (because, well, you're not contributing as the title implies!) This is something determined on a case-by-case basis, so don't worry about it too much if you are inactive for reasons such as lack of internet access or a broken computer. Feel free to send the group a note with any additional questions you may have!
